Manny Coto, the Cuban-born writer and producer who received an Emmy for his work on 24 and spent four seasons on American Horror Story and two more on American Horror Stories, has died. He was 62.

Coto, whose childhood love of Star Trek and Super-8 moviemaking led to a 40-year career in film and television, died Sunday at his home in Pasadena after a 13-month battle with pancreatic cancer, a family spokesperson announced.

Coto also worked on the final two seasons of UPN’s Star Trek: Enterprise (2003-05)

That's a real shame, my brother in law died of pancreatic cancer, it's a horrible disease.

Damn..... That's so young.....

Enterprise had some of its best moments during seasons 3 and 4. And Coto's work on season 4 was amazing. I would not have minded if he had gotten the chance to work on Star Trek again.... He will be missed.

Wow... that is so sad... i really appreciated his work on Enterprise...

Just 12 years older than me!

Such sad news! :( Season 4 was my favourite season of Enterprise. And I didn’t realize (or had forgotten) that he also created Odyssey 5, another show cancelled too soon. (Although I’m not sure why the article credits it with two seasons?)

My condolences to his family and friends.

Oh, man. This really sucks. I believe that Enterprise is one of the better Star Trek shows and his leadership helped make it what it was.
