Mandalorian prequel media?

Vulture

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
In the timeline there is 4-5years after Jedi, before Mando 1x1.

4ABY Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi
5ABY Kylo Ren born
6ABY (bounty hunting)
7ABY (bounty hunting)
8ABY (bounty hunting)
9ABY Mandalorian S1&2/Book Of Boba S1

I would love some media covering those years. Mando bounty hunter & the Razorcrest.

And in reality, it's a guy in a suit. Super simple to replicate in any medium be it live action, animation, whatever.....

Look, there's gotta be close to a dozen decent quality productions over the years of middle-aged guys trying to be "James T. Kirk" while *continuing* the mission.
You can't tell me the same fanbase can't throw on the Mando helmet on for some gunslinger adventures?

OH! I wish I was good with video editors.
I would take some old western (shit, aren't some old enough to be public domain now?) A good gun slinger one, and CGI Mando's hemet and armor over the hero's body. It would be hilarious.

Can anyone recommend any existing media like that?

All of the above, but I'd love to see the fan tie-ins.

The formula to repeat would be easy.
Get 3 guys......
A helmet off Amazon.com
Go into a generic forest.
One shoots the video on a go-pro or iPhone.
1 with the mask, and 1 person playing the bad guy.
You could literally create dozens of shorts costing only for the mask and maybe a couple prop weapons.

With photo editing/ video editing, it's not that hard to cut to a still frame of the Razor Crest parked in a clearing in the forrest.
Easy reference.

There's probably old Boba Fett fan vids from back in the day. But I'm really hoping for the more specific Mando/Razorcrest combo. Pre-TheKid.

That is fascinating!
I'm not there yet. Very excited to be. (Trying like hell to marathon CW & Rebels right now prior to Ahsoka, currently up to CW s4)
It's about 27 years between Ep3 & Mando 1x1.
I'm curious to see where they take the story.

If you want content that specifically exists in that post-Jedi pre-Mando window, then you're mostly looking at the novels, a handful of comics and a pair of videogames. Most of which focus in specifically on that first year between the defeat at Endor and the final surrender at Jakku, and as a result are mostly about the two opposing militaries with Operation Cinder being the main connective tissue. Can highly recommend the Alphabet Squadron Trilogy, which neatly ties into both the 'Squadrons' game, Battlefront 2's campaign, and the Tie Fighter comics.

As of yet there's been little to no background given to Dyn outside of what's been on the show (they're probably waiting for the show to be done before defining anything specific.) Likewise anything to do with the extended animated show cast is likely going to be saved for the Ahsoka show.

I found a video using Unreal Engine 5, and it looks pretty!

Imagine all the stories that can be created using this medium.

Typically in video games increased scope comes with decreased depth; the more space you have, the less you have to do in it.

If you want character based storytelling (that isn't 90% grind), then you'd do better to look towards more focused types of gameplay. The current 'Jedi' games seem to be hitting the sweet spot with metroidvania type level traversal and an on-rails narrative.

For a fully open "go anywhere, do anything" type of game you'd be looking at something more like 'Elite Dangerous', the 'X' series, 'Freelancer' etc, which are notoriously and necessarily light on actual character based storytelling, focusing more on worldbuilding immersion, and emergent storytelling.
