This is a pretty scary story for single men everywhere. Not everyone might admit it but one can see how easy it would be to fall victim to such a set up. What the story doesn't mention but I have read in other news accounts Smith had come into a $60,000 settlement recently and these bloodthirsty dirtbags seemingly believed he would have it on him. I guess is you are stupid enough to murder someone over money you would be dumb enough to believe people routinly carry thousands on their person. As for the women involved I hope the courts throw the book at them as in my mind they are just as guilty. Also not sure what is up with the Keystone cops overlooking the murder weapon at the crime scene. http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/And-there-was-blood-everywhere-4313205.php
He deserved to be horrifically stabbed to death for being stupid? Sometimes I wonder what goes through the head of people when they say ridiculous things like that. Nothing of any note, I suspect.
I imagiine SmoothieX would feel differently if he was the one being stabbed to death for making an error in judgement.
Stay classy, bro. This story is further evidence that a lot of men are easily led by the promise of sex. The women who did this must not be that bright, though, to think this was the way to get that money.
Yeah, don't meet random people off the internet for sex. Or random people from the internet in general.
If you read the story, the girls (and they are girls, 16 and 18) were not involved in the murder, but hid under a blanket when the violence started and tried to help the victim after he was stabbed. They were brought on by the robbers as bait and promised a share of the taking. Basically a bunch of stupid kids doing stupid things that got out of hand.
What really gets me is how people (the ones who did the stabbing) can be so monumentally stupid as to believe they can just lure someone like that, brutally kill them and get away with it. I mean, they had no idea if he would have the money on him, no idea who he had told he was coming to this place, and no idea if they could rely on the witnesses to keep quiet.
I still say the women are just as guilty...they knew they were doing the wrong thing and if it "got out of hand" well they have to bear the responsibility. No one forced them to trick Smith into visiting them.
Aww, so proud of you guys! I didn't have to come in here and scold at all! Yeah, it's good to be smart but no one deserves this. And it's sad that the promise of sex can have that much power.
You are on target with this. Even if it had remainied a simple robbery there was no way the thieves and the two girls would have gotten away with it. As soon as Smith left the apartment he would have had the cops nab the girls and they would give up the robbers fairly quickly.
