malaise/icky feeling

Rÿcher

Fleet Captain
I'm not sure if it's a cold or what but last night I was cold (shivering) yet the apartment was 70°, I've got an icky taste in my mouth, an overall feeling of un-well (malaise) but other than that, I feel fine. No congestion, no muscle aches, no headache, just all-around yucky.

I did have the flu shot a couple weeks ago.

I should probably mention the liquid (and I mean LIQUID) diarrhea most all yesterday. Ever piss out your ass? (I know, TMI) oh, and my wife is sick-sick. She was vomiting early this morning through today. She had to come home from work today because of it.

"so, is there a question?"

yeah, um...what do you think it is? Something we ate? A bug going around? the cold?

I highlighted your problem.

Did your wife have a flu shot as well? If so, the highlighted problem is a likelihood.

I hope you both are feeling better very soon.

^^ During my last two years in the Navy (1993/1994) I managed to get out of the mandatory flu shot and I've never had one since. In that time since, I've had the flu three times, because the winds from the Rockies and the west drive through Oklahoma, which is always one of the top three states to get hit every year. If I get the flu, I let it ride its course and be done with it. A healthy diet (and even a snort of booze) helps prevent one from catching the flu. IMHO, flu shots are overrated hysteria, because they guess at what strains will be prevalent, but never are. Oh, and my elderly parents never get flu shots either :p

I have to have one every year. FD policy if you're responding to medical calls.

Really? Eff that.

I've been feeling the Jimmy Carter malaise lately.

What's that -- an overwhelming urge to build houses for poor people and break Presidential tradition by criticizing the current administration so your own doesn't look like such a dismal failure?

Got squeezed in for a Dr's appointment tomorrow afternoon just in case it's not a reaction to the flu shot. Could be a parasite too. Just after thanksgiving donchaknow?

Yeah, I've never had a flu shot (unless my mom got me them when I was too young to remember) and I don't ever plan on getting one. And I don't remember the last time I had the flu...I just get a couple colds a year.

It's called preventative treatment. If you were around sick people you'd be required to do it too.
