MacGyver Season 2 Discussion *SPOILERS*

Season 3 of MacGyver premiered Friday night. When last season ended with Mac leaving Phoenix, I was kinda hoping that the show would take it as an opportunity to change things up a bit and return Mac back to his loner roots in the original show. And the opening of the ep seemed promising with Mac alone in Nigeria using his improv skills to help a village get clean water. But then the ep hit the big red reset button. By the end of the ep, the dad is out and the gang is back to like they were before.

Weird that it's season three already. The Mac and his Dad scenes are getting annoying at this point. We get it. Mac is mad at his father (with good reason). It's too much of the same thing.

Agree. There was no character development at all.

Watching the second episode of season 3, this show really has become "young people playing action spy hero". There was almost no macgyverisms at all, just the girls playing female James Bond to nab some bad dude and Mac, Dalton and his delta force buddies going on a spec ops mission in Honduras. Highly entertaining. The teen titans recurring joke was funny. But definitely not the MacGyver I grew up with.
