MacBook or iBook?

Yep. Saw it myself just now. Man, I have never been excited over computer announcements before!

I would love a MacBook...

Unfortunately, financially, I think the Pro version of Quicktime for use with my iPod, is the limit.

Numbers has just been announced as part of iWork. One of Apple's less well kept secrets, I suppose.

Edit - they've just said that, at last, the Mac Mini is getting a "refresh".

Edit again - Everything seems to be appearing on Apple.com now. Demo videos for the new iLife and iWorks too.

Edit the third:

The new Mac Minis are:

Model #1: 1.83ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (2mb cache), 1gb RAM, 80gb HD, Combo Drive (still! :( ). £399.00.

Model #2: 2ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (4mb cache), 1gb RAM, 120gb HD, Super Drive. £499.00.

Sadly, the US store is still down so I can't find any US prices for these.

Edit IV: The Voyage Home - Someone's already started their .Mac Gallery.

So...that's the new iMac. And a silently upgraded Mac mini. For a newbie like myself, it looks pretty sweet. I especially like the iWork applications; if it's really as compatible with Microsoft Office as they say, then it would save me a sweet $100 because I wouldn't have to buy the MS for Mac.

So now my question is: a new iMac or an old model at a reduced price? I don't know about a Mac mini anymore; I've started noticing how old and dirty my monitor is.

^ That said, electronics aren't subject to "wear" in the same way that mechanical devices are. And the most sensible price/performance ratio has never been found in top of the line models.
