He was also Jonathan Kent in the syndicated Superboy TV series, a show I adore despite its objective terribleness. RIP to Mr. Whitman as well.Stuart Whitman also passed on at age 92.
For fantasy fans he's probably best remembered for the Irwin Allen TV movie/unsold pilot, City Beneath the Sea (1971), and two episodes from the third season of Rod Serling's Night Gallery ("Lindeman's Catch" and "Fright Night").
That's him, all the way to screen right (next to Vicki Lawrence):
Lynda Carter said:Lyle Waggoner was a memorable colleague and co-star, but he was also a friend. His kindness meant the world to me when I was very young and just starting my career. Lyle and I last spoke in 2018 and I’m so glad we had the chance to catch up. We talked about how lucky we both were to be surrounded by such wonderful family and friends. I will miss you, Lyle.
So did I. I was disappointed to hear that if the show had gone to a fourth season Trevor would have been dropped. That last two part episode at the end of season three showcased what would have been the new format in Los Angeles and the new characters. Suffice it to say, that was not one of my favorite episodes.I liked him in wonder woman.
