Lwaxana Troi "Easter Egg"

I recently watched "Inter Arma Silent Leges," and came across something interesting- a possible Lwaxana Troi sighting, in fact. Her alleged appearance occurs shortly after Bashir arrives on Romulus, and the Federation delegation has gathered for a reception. As the scene unfolds, a woman who bears a striking resemblance to Troi can be seen walking behind Bashir, a glass in her right hand. There's no mention of an appearance- uncredited, or otherwise- by Majel Barrett in this episode, but I do wonder if the writers intended to place Lwaxana on Romulus for their amusement, and for ours.

She may have been on Romulus, it was an important diplomatic conference after all. But I'm pretty sure the books have her fighting Jem'Hadar on Betazed at the time.

I'm not sure. I thought Lwaxana's hair was curlier than the person's in that picture.

I just took a look at this scene, and it's definitely not her. Completely different face.

I think if Lwaxana was in the scene, we would have noticed her.

She tends to draw attention to herself in every seen she's in.

She's a woman of many wigs

If she was in a scene, Richard Arnold, former ST Archivist, would have been telling people at conventions and the cameo would be well-anticipated. It's not Majel.

What are you talking about? Literally a second before that shot, you see her face as she walks towards the camera. It's not Lwaxana. You can also see her in various other spots throughout the scene. You can see her in the exact center of the frame immediately after the establishing shot of the Romulan capital. She's wearing what looks like a green velvet dress with lots of gold lace.

Lwaxana Troi is a daughter of the Fifth House of Betazed, the Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, and Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed.

In other words: she's too good for a cameo. The camera would have automatically panned and centered on her!

Given her comments about the Dominion War, I doubt the writers had thought about Barrett coming back. While she still voicing the Starfleet computer in the series, she only did so in three episodes of the sixth and seventh seasons - "Valiant", "Penumbra" and "The Dogs of War".
