Just now on the view the same actor admits that the Lt. Hawk character was intended to be gay!
They must have assimilated millions of gay people over the centuries.
How about they don't talk about it and they just make out on camera like all the heterosexual couples do?Do we really need characters on a show set in 23rd/24th century to talk about their sexual orientation?

I know. I was joking.
I'm just so sick of all those gay threads. I mean, is it really that important if someone's gay or not? Do we really need characters on a show set in 23rd/24th century to talk about their sexual orientation? I don't care if someone's gay or not in the real world, and I couldn't care less if it's a fictional character we're talking about!

That is just fine and dandy enough to be posted and discussed in a thread on the boards!! Oh wait, it already has been in SEVERAL. Let's stick to the OP as it was started. The point is that Neal McDonough was stated as saying that Hawke was gay and he made no such remark. They must have assimilated millions of gay people over the centuries.

I think it's wonderful that you could care less if someone is gay or not in the real world. However, I think it is important to have an out character. No, I don't think we need to have an entire arc for a gay character, but let's stop hiding it. It should be a non-issue so lets just have a character with some casual references indicating as such. That makes it a non-issue.
I usually tend to stay away from "The View" but whenever channel surfing and I see a star trek related discussion, It is always Whoopie that has started it.Pretty fitting that Guinan brought it up. She sees ALL!
