Lower Deck Tales: The Longest Day

Intrigued as to what the different take will be this time. Can't wait but will try my best to do so. Hee hee

The next Lower Deck Takes story will be a while but there is more Star Eagle Adventures coming much sooner. If everything goes smoothly, as early as the coming weekend.

I'm looking forward to find out what you and others will think of it.
Man, have I got a lot to read...still never finished your first one SEA novel.

I know that my novel-length Star Eagle stories are not for everyone. That's one of the reasons I've shifted focus on shorter stories like the Lower Deck Tales which should be accessible enough to be enjoyed without having an extensive Star Eagle background knowledge.

For this particular story I think it adds a certain amount of depth if you already know the characters but I don't think readers lose much if they don't.

^Fair enough. Though I really do intend to read them at some point.

Can you do a bullet point summary of the major events, like Pocket Books did at the start of Twist of Faith for DS9?

Sorry about the late response...
Heh, I hadn't quite realized the story had ended, but I enjoyed it a lot. I hope we see more of our young Andorian friend in future tales. As I've said before, this was a great way to see Eagle from different perspectives. It reminds you that so-called "background" characters are real people, too.

I can't say I'm in love with Star. Frankly, this woman has her nerve. She breaks regs then has the nerve to blame a subordinate for getting her into trouble with the captain. It also dosen't speak will of an xo who thrashes about in desperation to gain the respect of the crew. She has no business giving career advice to anyone, in my opinion.

Of course, I'm being harsh. I don't know her back story, which may be why I'm not as forgiving as your other readers.

But Star is an interesting charcter for sure.

All in all, great work here!

Thanks a bunch for the feedback.

And I can understand your feelings towards Star. She's not an immediately likable character. I suppose she is difficult to like period. And I doubt you will change you mind much after you learn about her background. In fact the contrary might be true. But to find out more about her check out the novella Star Crossed and the novel All The Sinners, Saints. There'll also be a Star centered short story coming up in my vignette series.

Enough plugging. Thanks for reading.
