As I was finishing watching TSFS I noticed something.....
The TOS Trek movies cut a lot of kids out!
Star Trek 2--'Khan's kid' kid cut from final cut--see photos in other thread.
Star Trek 3---Vulcan child cut from 'climbing Mt Selaya scene' It was a late cut as her name made it to the End credits. She said "Live long &.." to Spock's body as he is carried past.
Star Trek 4---Sulu's ancestor. The story goes the kid got stage-fright before filming and was almost coaxed out of it before his crazy 'stage mom' berated him. Scene was never filmed.
Perhaps he thought, "they're just going to cut me out anyway"
Star Trek 5----Young Spock. Originally they were going to hire a child to play Spock as a child in the deleted 'Spock's 2nd secret pain' scene.
Later they just had Nimoy do the lines AS IF he were a child (see the CE DVD) In the commentary Shatner's daughter clearly mentions the auditioning process for the child.
So cut from Trek 2 & 3 after filmng. Cut from Trek 4 before filming and cut from Trek 5 before hiring the actor!!!!
Seems like a pattern.
The little girl (Martia's alter-form) in TUC must have been afraid that she'd never see her part in the final cut of the movie.
Perhaps someone each time thought 'kids and trek' Miri !! '..Children Shall lead' !! Clint Horwards teeth !!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!
