Ok, I'm not much of a fan of ITV drama, nor am I too pushed on Jane Austen type stuff. but I really got into 'Lost in Austen' (Sort of 'Sense & Sensibility' meets 'Life on Mars'). I've just caught up with the 4th and final episode.

What an awful ending!!

Spoilers below for those who are interested -

After all her worries about screwing up the classic love story of Elizabeth and Darcy, Amanda says 'screw it' and stays with Darcy, while Elizabeth goes back to modern London where she's taken to 21st century life like a duck to water.:wtf:
The whole ending was so rushed. I know the show was a bit of fluff but we can still have smart fluff!!

Anyone else here watch it? What did you think?

I've heard about this and I'm so "girly" for Austen it's sad, so I kind of want to see what they've done. It also seems like huge wish fulfillment, where the modern girl idealizes Edwardian England and goes back in time to wear fluffy dresses and corsets and have tea and the Edwardian girl discovers that as a woman living in the future, she gets to make her own choices and doesn't have to worry about settling for the rich guy.

I guess I'll have to watch it to be able to form an opinion though.
