Lost Girl Season 5 on Syfy

True. Although, I think the better ones are better at hiding it. It probably helps when you have shows where the network also owns the studio that produces it. That means that, even if the ratings go down, they still have an incentive to keep the thing going for more syndication revenue down the line.

BTW, I think it's frikken ridiculous that I'm only just getting caught up with the 1st half of the 5th season on iTunes now! I'm not used to being over a year behind on one of my favorite shows! (It's like the early 2000s all over again when I had to wait a whole year for the new episodes of Stargate SG-1 to be rerun in syndication!)

Anyone still watching now that the last half-season is underway? I'm still underwhelmed by the writing post-Lovretta, but I'm surprised how glad I was to see Kenzi return this week. I never quite got why so many other viewers were so gaga over Kenzi, but having her return makes me realize how much energy and fun she brought to the show and what great chemistry she and Anna Silk had. She's totally changed her look, though.

Whatever I may feel about the writing overall, you have to have some appreciation for a series that blatantly copies the Catherine Zeta-Jones laser grid scene from Entrapment and has its characters openly acknolwedge that they're copying the Catherine Zeta-Jones laser grid scene from Entrapment.

I haven't given up. I was glad to see Kenzi back as well, but I was always less gaga about her than just "Okay, she's cute she can stay."

Agreed about the CZJ Entrapment scene. Bo didn't quite do it better, but she was competitive with her routine, definitely.

I like how they're setting Lauren up to be the Ultimate Fae by giving her power siphoning abilities. I want to see how long it lasts.

I'm still not crazy about the Valkyrie chick, but I hate her a little less than I used to.

I dislike Lauren's character and was excited there for a few minutes (and laughed delightedly), but phooey. It's the way she's written, not the actress because I like her in Dark Matter.

I don't think any of the characters are written all that well anymore. It was totally contrived to have Lauren just suddenly leap into the middle of the road like that.
