Lisa Klink wrote some of the episodes for DS9/VOY.
1x DS9 ep; 13x VOY eps;

Her interview is very insightful into the thought process behind the writers room at the time.

You can just listen to this interview in the background if you want. Nothing of significance comes up visually despite being recorded in visual.

Enjoy!

I liked listening to Lisa Klink. Cool video!

My only issue is that the host seems to love the sound of his own voice. There were multiple times when he seems to be just patting himself on the back.

Side note: I don't know if anyone else knows this, but she DOES have another Roddenberry connection. She wrote for and was on the writing staff of EARTH: FINAL CONFLICT. If memory serves me, I think it was during season 2.

I like Lisa Klink's insights into both Discovery (she's a fan of it) and her take on what writing for Voyager was like. And yes, it was a different aim back then.

They wanted anyone who was watching VOY for the first time to be able to jump right in. DSC's aim is to get you to binge an entire season once it's out. And to keep CBS All Access Subscribers subscribed as the season is being released week-by-week, month-by-month. You can watch Season 2 and still get by without watching Season 1, and I'm sure we'll be provided with enough recap information to watch Season 3 and get by without watching the first two. But they want you watch every episode in the season once you're watching that season.

It was a mostly good interview but I don't like that Lore Reloaded was trying to push a particular slant sometimes when interviewing Klink. "Do you think Star Trek's told all the stories it has to tell?" And Lisa Klink gave the perfect answer to that: Sure you can only tell so many stories with one particular character but because there are so many Star Trek series with so many different characters, you can always tell another character's story.

Hey, so I'm the actual 'host' of the video you brought up. If you don't mind me asking, what pieces did you think I was patting myself on the back? The only thing I can think of is when I brought my own experience - but I really was trying to get her thoughts.

Eitherway, I'm just curious and would appreciate the feedback if you're willing to let me know for future interviews. Thanks!
