Looking to buy 1st printing copy of "Blind Man's Bluff"

I have first printing copies of all Pocket Books Star Trek books but I never saw this one come to my local stores... Now all the online copies I've checked about are no longer first printing. :scream:

Does anyone know of a copy online or somewhere local to them that is selling a first printing copy? I would be very appreciative.

Actually, that's a good sign for PAD's next contract for NF. The initial print-run wasn't sufficient to cover demand for the trade, even though the MMPB reprint is already on the schedule?! :bolian:

I had to go to three bookstores before I could find a first printing of George R.R. Martin's A Dance With Dragons in its week of release. The nearby Barnes & Nobles all had third printings. I finally found a first printing at Borders.

If pre-orders exceed expectations for the first printing, some random stores will receive second printings in their first batch. This happened with the first "Titan" novel. A second hardcover edition of "New Frontier: Stone and Anvil" (lacking the free eBook collection CD) was on shelves beside the first edition about the same time. I know I got stuck with a second printing of the "Q Continuum" Signature Edition omnibus and I had it on pre-order.

I have yet to see this book show up at any local Chapters or Coles... first printing or otherwise.

I was never terribly worried until I noticed my copy of "Deep Domain", just out of its box, had no embossed lettering. A few weeks later, another shop had copies with embossing. It had sold so well on preorder that it had gone into immediate reprint, but only the first printings were getting embossed covers. I've checked to ensure first printings with each purchase ever since, but it's tricky if ordering online, or when printing mishaps happen, such as missing words on the edges on several pages in every first edition of "Stargazer: Oblivion". (The error was corrected for subsequent printings.)
 
Just out of curiosity, how do you tell which printing a book is? Is it on the copyright page or something?

Yes, it's on the copyright page and usually has a number line that counts down to the number 1 like this: 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

If it was a 2nd printing it would end in a 2, 3rd printing a 3, and so on.
 
As for Blind Man's Bluff, I never saw it in Borders either. In fact, I don't think Borders has gotten a Trek TPB since the Myriad Universe anthologies. I guess I got lucky that my online order was a first printing.

Incidentally, the new youth novels don't seem to include what printing they are, unless I'm overlooking it in some odd place. The publisher decided to get "creative" (I use the term loosely) with the publication info page by printing the text in an arc shape. It makes it awkward to read (and frankly looks very silly *reminds self that these are YOUTH books*).
