Looking for Science Advisor/Futurist

Hi,

I'm looking for someone to be a Science Advisor/Futurist for an independent tv/internet science fiction pilot currently in pre-production.

This production will try to keep more to science fact than fiction. We are currently in the development stage and I need someone to answer questions, critique design and story ideas, keep us from venturing to far away from science.

Nothing confidential, though. And any advice should be taken with a grain of salt. But not too much, though, you'll get high blood pressure.

What sort of scientific advice is this looking for? General science, and giving an approximate judgement on the feasibility of ideas? It sounds like an interesting role to take in a project... but I know nothing, so I would be unable to offer any credible advice.

Thank you for the responses and the questions.

Right now their are two people involved with this endeavor, myself and a co-writer. We are just starting to flesh out the background from my original idea. This project is intended to be a two hour pilot for television or if no takers, the internet/DVD. The goal is to be in pre-production for all of 2010. That is to write the script, put together the necessary personal for this project, build sets, and cast the principles. I'm looking to shoot this in early 2011 for a fall 2011 release.

I will be funding this project completely myself, the longer pre-production helps with maximizing the minimal budget this project will have. I knew the first question would be about pay, I should have addressed it in the original post. While I was looking for someone willing to accept deferred pay, for when we sold it. I also have planned to offer DVD/Blu-Rays for sale if this does not get picked up. However if the person is only willing to work for upfront money, something maybe worked out. This position of Science Advisor/Futurist is ment to be more that just an advisor, if the person is interested. If so inclined, they can help shape the story with direct involvement. Thats why I was going to make this person one of the producers on the show as well.

I really want this project to be grounded in strong good science. This person would be designated with keeping up honest and true. They would offer up design ideas, be a sounding board for possible technology advances and overall guru of space travel.

This sounds like the sort of thing I've often imagined I'd like to do, but of course that means I'm skeptical. Can you offer any credentials? Anything to convince us that you're serious about this and in a position to accomplish something?
