I'm looking for a bluegrass/country song from the 80s or very early 90s that had a fairly fast tempo - think "East Bound and Down" - and each verse ended with "Beam me up Scotty, ain't no intelligent life down here". The end faded with them periodically repeating "Beam me up, Scotty.......beam me uuuuup" in vocal harmony reminiscent of a train whistle.
Anyone know who this was by, or what the name of it is? (I would think "Beam Me Up" or "Beam Me Up, Scotty", but my Google-fu has had a rare failure.
)
P.S. It isn't the song off the Dr. Demento collection. That is slower and much more melodic.
