Looking for a free image hoster

Hi,

i'd like to upload some pics occasionally to post online and am looking for a free webhoster who offers to host the pics. I don't need much space.. 100-200 MB would be enough.

I've used Imageshack before but they switched to a pay model after the 30 day free trial is over.

Any suggestions?

Not only that, but Photobucket is slower than a donkey cart.

I use Postimage.org. I have been very happy with it. It's free, you can upload images up to 5Mb each at a time, there's unlimited upload space, and unlimited bandwidth. The interface is snappy, and uploads are easy. The only drawback, if you consider it one, is if no one views your images for more than six months, they get deleted, but that's it.

It's not hate, so much as it is dissatisfaction with how slow, and more restrictive, it has become compared to other free services. Photobucket used to be great! You could upload a multitude of pictures and get their links quickly, all in one fell swoop. Then they revamped their site, and for me it went downhill from there. Now, in the time it takes Photobucket to load so I can upload pictures, I can just toss a dozen pictures up on Postimage, and grab all the links at once, in thumbnail, direct link, or gallery format, if I want, and drop them right in a post. Ten seconds tops.

Now that flickr has stopped being a little bitch about BBS code I am in love with it again.

I think you only get 250 free ones. That said I bought the yearly sub to it like 3 years ago and haven't paid anything since. Much more usable than photobucket but I still have photobucket for gifs which flickr doesn't do.

Postimage does allow gifs (up to 5Mb), if you're looking for a host that will let you post them. I use it for my arsenal of pony.

OOOOOoo and they can be that size? Because fuck you photobucket I find a great gif on tumblr and photobucket turns it into a postage stamp.

Yep. Like I said, I used to love Photobucket, but then they started restricting everything. At first it was reasonable, but then it started getting way too cramped for my taste. I went to Imageshack, and they were great for a year or two, but now they're a pay service. So after some digging, I found Postimage, and aside from the "image must be viewed every 6 months or it is deleted" thing, they're fantastic. I can live with that tiny limitation, especially for free (though they do have a pay service).

WHAT!!!

I have 8,262 photos in my flickr. Even if they didn't constantly extend your subscription so that I've paid only 25.00 for several years of it, even if it was 25 a year flat I consider it great storage.

That only applies to free accounts. If you pay for premium service ($23 a year), you get 10MB file size per image, and there is no expiration.

I guess I've outgrown free sites. But I do want a site that will hosts gifs and not shrink them. I would also like somewhere to store videos which I am willing to pay for.
