LOGOS... canon violation?

Why did the USS Kelvin crew wear the Enterprise logo (assignment patch) on their chest? In TOS, we saw each starship/starbase had its own logo, and it was assumed that Starfleet adopted the Enterprise logo for all personnel after the historic 5 year mission.

Yet, even before any time disruptions (unless you count ENT), the Kelvin personnel are seen wearing the familiar Delta Shield of the USS Enterprise crew.

There are some things from TOS that you just have to forget like the logo's for each ship its the same with UESPA.

TrekkieCat finds you. What he does is unknown, but it must be horrible.

I did notice the ones for the Kelvin crew were outlines of the shield, whereas the ones for the E crew were (mostly) solid.

Well, the original series was hardly consistent on this. Sure, most of the time, they had a unique emblem for each ship. But, every so often, you'd see a station with the delta or something like that. You could rationalize it by giving every fleet a symbol (depending on how big you want the fleet to be, it would be difficult to give every ship it's own symbol).

Enterprise establishes the Delta as a starfleet logo, so maybe it could be the first fleet (no, I'm not saying the Enterprise was the flagship, just that it was part of the first fleet). Of course, Enterprise also established that different ships have different patches (which would theoretically get replaced by the less ornate symbols), but it was also a smaller fleet, so maybe not.

Easily explained. Starfleet adopted the "A" insignia for the entire Fleet in memorial of the Kelvin.
