Lizard sex aside...

Anubis

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
I just re-watched Threshold and, lizard sex aside, why abandon transwarp? You could send a volunteer to earth in the shuttle with explicit instructions on fixing the mutations. Or, why not do that with the whole ship? Paris wasn't effected for a few hours.

Cos then the show would be over by Season Two. Same with all technologies and wormholes that they found before Ep7.26, there was a catch.

Production aside, I think the risk was too great. Paris took off with Janeway in a shuttle after one attempt, who knows what a whole ship load would do.

I'm sure having access to such a magical propulsion system would've attracted Q before long.

I speculated that they couldn't navigate or set a course. They said that they couldn't, but of course, B'Elanna probably assumed it would only take a couple weeks to figure out how to navigate and steer once they get as far as they did, but it seems not to have.

Look how long it took the Germans to figure out how to make a rocket go where they wanted it to.

I

Temporary salamandritis does seem like a small price to pay for the intergalactic shortcut.

Same thing with slipstream.

If it were me? I'd stop everything else until I got it to work.

You'd have to wonder when they captured that transwarp shuttle in Distant Origin or the transwarp coils form the Borg or Seven's intimate knowledge... That they learnt enough that the process they were working with in Threshold was a dead end.

If this was Brannon's WORST episode? Why did he name his next venture the same, and not think he was filming on a desecrated Indian Burial Ground?

I wonder what would happen to Tuvok, Kes, Neelix and other none humans?

Would Kes become god-like?

I hope not. I like to think those mutations weren't how we're actually going to turn out. I really don;t want to be a salamander person.

Evolution doesn't work that we become perfect. It works that we become perfectly comfortable. So man will only evolve (hopefully) into a salamander if a few thousand generation of him live and breed in transwarpspace.

Braga had no role in naming the tv series Threshold after the Voyager episode. It was named that by the series creator whoever that was.

Follow the link. Brannon was Executive Producer for all 13 episodes. He had input. The name probably changed a dozen times after the concept began to germinate in Bragi F. Schut head, who is listed as a co-executive producer for an unknown number of episodes, but wrote all of them.

Methinks Brannon, just used this guy as a talent mule.

Or if Earth slowly, over time, becomes only suitable for salamanders so that we are forced to evolve into them. That would be an odd thing to happen, though.

You had to say "The movie"? perhaps we might have thought that you meant the Theme park? ;)

It's funny how I did find that land kid from Water World to be one of the most unattractive monkey like children I have ever seen in my life, but she grew up to be quite a hot little number. :)

My memory on Voyager is lacking but didnt the whole warp 10 thing require a human to 'think' about where to exit warp 10 and thats how you end up where you wanted to be? because with warp 10 you occupy every point in the universe simultaneously and only through human input can you get out where you wanna be so I would imagine pre-programming a shuttle wouldnt work.

They never confirm how you navigate, but thought does seem to be a part of it. However, you don't need to pre-program anything. Just go back with instructions about fixing the mutations.

Which is alot better than the movie.
