I am one of those who hardly, if ever, watches tv shows 'live' anymore . Meaning, I DVR all my shows (I have three HD DVRS) and watch when i want to. The only show I watch live??? THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD cartoon with my son, because he makes me. Other than that? All the other shows are DVRd and generally watched over the weekend..

what you guys???

Rob

The only thing I watch "live" is sport.

I did..until this year. There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many commericals in an NFL football game, we hold off watching for an hour to give them a head start...

nothing really to watch in UK but the ones I do are normally live like...

Have I Got News For You
Match of Day
Sunday Supplement
Spooks
Doctor Who

I tend to watch a few other shows on BBC I Player like...

QI
Ashes to Ashes
and anything that looks good on I Player

I watch live sport as well and rest of TV is American so I watch by other evil means.

I do not watch a single episode of anything live anymore. Even if I really can't wait to see an episode of something, I DVR it and wait until about 20 minutes into the episode to begin. Then I can FF through all the commercials and still finish about the same time as everyone else.

But usually, I don't even do that. I DVR stuff and watch the episodes within a few days.

I watch Lost live, and sometimes Scrubs or How I Met Your Mother / The Big Bang Theory if I am home. The rest are DVRed.

I barely watch anything live. I don't have a HD PVR so anything that I'm really bothered about seeing in HD, but seen as I only have 2 HD channels that's not much.

I don't have TV at home except for DVDs. I watch everything online, either on Hulu or, if I have to, the network's website. ABC's player is SO annoying - you have to "Click to Continue" after every "commercial" break, and it seems very memory-intensive. It's also difficult to resize to be able to do two things at once. I wish ABC would just put their content on Hulu (I know they won't - I just wish they would). Either that, or get a decent player, because the one they're using now is terrible.

But Hulu, while still flawed, has so much more flexibility than the ABC player. You can queue videos, subscribe to your favorites, and you don't have to provide any input once you start the show to watch the whole thing. So hooking up to a TV and watching from across the room is actually doable. I really love Hulu. :)

I try to watch my shows "live", but I rest assured knowing that my DVR will record them if I'm not home. I bowl on Mondays so I miss "Heroes". I now have class every other Wednesday so I will sometimes miss "Lost." This week I'll have a dilemma because "Dollhouse" premieres in the same timeslot as "Friday Night Lights" so one of them will have to be recorded while I watch the other.

Unfortunately for me, my TiVo is an older SD-only one and I abjectly refuse to pay my cable company for their hideously overpriced HDPVR. And the Canadian cable companies are not subject to the same regulation in the US to force them to support cable cards, so an HD TiVo won't work. As a result, I can't record any of the HD channels so all of the network shows I watch I'm forced to watch live if I want to see them in HD (which I do!).

So all those first run network shows I watch live. Everything else (reruns, new shows that are only in SD, etc) I don't watch live.
