Little Things

I just started rewatching Voyager. I've been noticing little things. I'm currently watching Non Sequitir, the scene where Harry went to see Tom. Tom told him about being thrown into the brig by Odo and Janeway tried to get him out and join them.

It hit me...it would have meant Voyager would have stayed at Deep Space Nine a bit longer...at least a day. Wouldn't that mean the Caretaker would have had to grab another ship from elsewhere if he was in such a rush?

Boom! Voyager never got lost

Except that the episode was a lot about how Voyager was still lost, and Daniel Byrd was lost in the DQ unfairly in Harry Kim's place.

Is it it possible that after Harry finished toggling the Time Streams, and Daniel was back on Earth, waking up next to his boyfriend, not lost in space anymore, he "eventually concluded "Hell yeah. Kim can suck it, I'm staying."

otherwise the universe will be continuously see swing back and forth plied by each of these boys guilt for the other's harddonebyness insisting that the Delta Quadrant is their fate most and more.

(yes, I know, Daniel probably, most likely, had no idea about the changes.)

Why didn't they insist that Admiral Paris wear an ankle bracelet too? If I was Harry I'd tell them to shove their tracking device where the sun don't shine.

I've had the 1965 Bobby Goldsboro song running through my head since seeing the thread title. A 50 year old memory I didn't want to remember.

I was also mystified that they didn't drag Harry to a doctor. I guess none of them has experience serving on a starbase or starship.

All that weird cloud aliens having overnight babies with impossibly beautiful Ensigns... That only happen to Kirk and Picard. Everyone else had a boring as shit 5 year mission, or ongoing mission.

Mapping star systems or posted to the front line of war they did not need to understand in order to keep reloading their torpedo launchers.

I read a novel where a character back home, did not believe Kirk's logs, and assumed that they were all just drunk and making stuff up, inventing yet more outrageous stories until someone called them on their shit, which no one ever did.

So... IN THE ALTERNATE TIMESTREAM where Harry was acting peculiar and a little batshit (because he was ignorant and foreign), it is unsettling that neither Starfleet Medical nor Starfleet Security were pushing each other out of the way to get to Harry and sort him out first.

In Eureka season 5, the entire main cast returned from the past to slightly present that constituted a different timeline but they all shut the #### up that they were not supposed to be there, because the SOP in this situation is to herd any sliders from parallel timelines into crates and then ship them to an enclosure underneath area 51 for permanent study.

Although, isn't it amazing that no one thought that Harry might have been a Changeling?

Or why didn't Harry gone back in time 2 years and stop Voyager form getting lost? Surely going back in time two years was easier than destroying and rebuilding the entire universe.

Sure the Kazon would get the Ocampa's water, but Momma Kim still had enough love in her not to be spent form having two son's named Harry demanding to bask in her endless maternal affection.

Seriously "take their water"

That's all Caretaker was worried about.

Dim witted old bat.

I always assumed the Caretaker only abducted ships when he detected someone who was "compatable" onboard. Which would mean Daniel Byrd would also be a suitable test subject.

Caretaker was just looking for a keen clarinet player. Unluckily for Voyager, it was screwed either way, because Daniel Byrd knew a thing or two about blowing an instrument also.

Or why didn't Caretaker just signal his own species or send a displacement wave after a sperm/egg donor from another of his species? Seems a lot more efficient than sending a shit load of ships from every backwater part of the galaxy to your back door to raise hell with the locals.

Or, he could have programmed the displacement wave to dump the contents of that water planet from Thirty Days on the Ocampa Homeworld and then the Kazon-Ogla would have nothing to complain about :D

I think they got a bit muddled up here because on the one hand they're hinting at what you're suggesting (that things changed for everyone) but then they're also suggesting that Kim basically just swapped with Daniel Byrd......oh and Tom stayed behind.

Did Cavit, Stadi, the doctor survive in this time line?

Thanks a lot Harry

Or (since the Kazon were the caretakers major concern) why not just send all Kazon ships 70 thousand light years away?

Job done
