They are really sweet. I didn't know horses rolled around like that though!

Very nice pictures. It's weird because I saw a woman standing next to a fence as I was driving home, and she was petting some little horses just like these. There weren't as many.

There's a field I drive by all the time that has both horses and miniature donkeys. They are the cutest things!

Somehow, I'm reminded of that moment in Father Ted with the little cows.

But yeah, cute animals. :bolian:

Very cute!
Oh and Shetties are quite small, but if these are really the VERY small ones, than its more a race like "Falabella".

Are all little horses ponies or are ponies something else?
There are horses and there are ponies, which resemble horses generally but have some characteristics which differentiate them. And then you have miniature horses:

Miniature horses are found in many nations, particularly in Europe and the Americas. The designation of miniature horse is determined by the height of the animal, which, depending on the particular breed registry involved, is usually less than 34–38 inches (86–97 cm) as measured at the last hairs of the mane, which are found at the withers.[1][2] While miniature horses are the size of a very small pony, many retain horse characteristics and are considered "horses" by their respective registries.
I'll leave it to others more expert on the differences to spell out where the lines get drawn, but I think that Owain is probably correct in identifying the ones pictured above as Shetlands.

Where were these taken, btw, Dell? From what I can see of the landscape, it looks like it could be near me.

Whatchoo talkin' bout?

I'm also more than a little tempted to steal this one for its comedy value. :D

I am so pleased that folks are enjoying the photos. :)
These charming little characters live in Cherry Valley, CA.
