No composer credited for this one, so probably reused music from a previous episode. Among those who composed music for episodes of Mannix are at least two familiar names from Star Trek, plus another who did music for lots of eps for The Wild Wild West.

George Duning might be one candidate -- sounds not unlike the fight music heard in "Is There in Truth No Beauty?"

from the 3 trumpet blasts on reminds me of the Kirk-Spock fight in Amok Time, while this is not as suspenseful or dark it possibly could have played on Trek and been OK.

Whoa, Mannix just took three consecutive closed-fist punches to the jaw, each so hard that it sounded like an open-hand slap, and it barely fazed him! Those TV guys were pretty tough.

At first I thought the music sounded like Alexander Courage phoning it in, but there's no credit, so I guess not. Now I think it may have been generic, canned library music that wasn't even composed for Mannix.

I forgot the stats, but somebody once posted how many times Mannix was knocked out in the show, something like 36. Any mortal would have permanent dain bramage.

And Mike Connors did his own stunts. He didn't even make it through the pilot episode without injuring himself. Doing that for an entire series is kind of an endurance contest.

I think there was a similar stat for Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
