Watching the clips reminded me of how some hardcore PT fans attempted to deriede the OT's swordsmanship as "slow", but a look at Hamill's training from TESB (@ 6:45 - 6:51)--

I'm a hardcore PT fan and I never had a problem with Mark Hamill's swordsmanship. In fact, I have seen this video clip. "The Empire Strikes Back" featured my favorite lightsaber duel for the Original Trilogy.
 
You have to do it slow until it becomes second, or first nature., in order to prevent injury. Then you can do the swordplay fast.
