And the coma theory is just silly.
How could it apply anyway, given that there was at least one scene in this episode without Sam in it? (that bit where Gene confronts Ray in the station house)
Also: I have a question about the scene where young Sam and his father are seen emerging from a subway station. This is Madison Square Garden, and therefore Penn Station (which is right under MSG). Is the sign above the station accurate for the time period? I noticed that the 2 and 3 trains weren't on it. They have always stopped at Penn Station that I'm aware of.
(The sign had A, C, E trains, which I believe were all express at that time; AA, CC and EE, local versions of those same routes; and the 1. But the 2 and 3 trains also stop at Penn and always have, so they should have been on the sign as well.)
