'Life is growth'

To grow or not to grow -- the Universe appears to be going to suffer inevitable heat death anyway. Extracting useful work becomes increasingly difficult as entropy increases and the available free energy tends toward zero.

We are but ambulatory coral reefs that are deluded enough to believe that anything and everything we do is worth a shit.

Meh. Since we created the concept of "worth a shit", and therefore nothing would be worth a shit were it not for us, then, whilst it may be tautological, it's not delusional to believe that anything we do is worth a shit.

Life is growth. If we stop growing, technically and spiritually, we are as good as dead.

Opinions? As Trekkers and as people?
Three links to the same quote, that quote, and a call for opinions does not a topic make. I'll leave it open for now but you need to include more content next time you start a thread.

Yes, growth is greatly important, and we should always strive to be better than we were yesterday. I don't care if what I do and who I am aren't worth beans in the cosmic, eternal scheme of things. The end of time and the other side of the universe are meaningless to me; all I know is the right here and the right now.

Arnold Schwarzenegger said it best: "The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer."

I live by these words.
