This was one of the weaker episodes of a series that I would generally rate above average or excellent almost every time. Definitely a let-down after the student prison episode which was very powerful.
They have to get rid of the new Captain. Donal Logue is a decent actor but his character is just a complete cretin and adds absolutely nothing of value to the story. His interjections into the dialogue are written as if they're supposed to be humorous, but I generally end up feeling like Reese and wanting to take a shower. Everything he says is just crass and unsavory.
The ending of the A-Story just sort of happened and it didn't feel like they were building towards it in any meaningful way.
I'm not sure how I feel about Jack Reese as a sympathetic semi-villain after the way he's been built-up, but hopefully they can go in an interesting direction with it. I preferred it when it was a sore spot between Reese and Crews that you knew she was eventually going to have to definitively take a side (in violence) on, but now it looks like they might end up working together or at least towards a common goal somewhat.
Ted's classroom adventures were funny and hopefully can be developed into something interesting.
