Let's stimulate the economy!

Every once in a while, I just get the urge to go out and spend some money. I think it's good for my mental well-being. I don't know what I want to buy, but I think I'm gonna go to some stores and look around, see what I can find.

I'll justify it by saying I'm helping get us out of the recession.

Let's see, in the month of January, i spent a lot of money. I bought a new laptop, two 120GB Zunes ... and now i'm gonna buy a new phone in the coming weeks. My BFF says that i'm the only one stimulating the economy. Glad i'm not alone.

And you can stimulate this economy any day of the week. ;)

The economic crisis hasn't really hit me at all, but I made some fairly major purchases a few months back (flatscreen TV, PS3, etc) and have been trying to exercise some self control. But now I think it's time to buy stuff again.

Me too. But before I spend more, I need to pay bills some more.

^That's another thing. I'm actually ahead on my bill payments right now. I've been paying a little extra on my rent every month since I moved in, so I don't have any rent due in March!

That's several hundreds of "extra" dollars I can blow on whatever I want.

Why is it that whenever I want to spend money I can never find anything I want?

I bought 2 t-shirts...and went to Burger King. Very anticlimactic.

I really want to buy a new laptop, but I'm not quite ready for that big of a purchase. I'm waiting until I get my TV paid off.

You can pick up a PC for really cheap these days, but I want to switch to a Mac, which are a lot more expensive.

You should run for Congress. You've got the job requirements down pat already...

I just gritted my teeth last fall and got a Macbook. Best investment I've ever made.

Oh, and the camera I want? Amazon cut the price by $20 since I added it to my cart. I'm going to bump from a 4 MB to a 8 MB memory card.

Get it, girl.

The Macbook is definitely happening. I just want to pay off my TV before I go putting something else on my credit card. One major purchase at a time...

What kind of Mac do you want?
I can find you a good deal.

Let's see... two hundred dollars to get my car fixed... two hundred and fifty to get my laptop fixed... two hundred for my mother's birthday... I've stimulated the economy enough this month. :rommie:

I went shopping yesterday, but aside from groceries, everything I bought was paid for with gift cards from Xmas.

I'm trying not to spend any unnecessary money. So far, I have not been laid off, but that circumstance is quite possibly subject to change. It is that way in all large companies right now...and IBM is no exception. So far, we have laid off about 35,000.

This month, all I did was pay regular household bills & mortgage, purchase gas once (I work at home so gas consumption has been cut way back), groceries a few times, and one DVD boxed set (classic films) which came out at the beginning of the month but that I'd pre-ordered back in December.

Putting back more money in readily accessible savings, just in case.
