Let's Start a Project!

It occured to me the other day while watching an episode of Voyager that Star Trek in it's later years never really either thought of or developed enough of the alien races. Klingons and Bajorans are about the only cultures we know "too much" about so lets create a new Star Trek race of our own.

I thought it would be a fun discussion to figure out a culture from scrap, language, politics, social issues, society structure and so forth. It would also be an opportunity to enlist the good folks from the Trek Art and FanFic forums, once we have all agreed on some species basics maybe Trek Art can come up with starships for this new race and FanFic writers could create a more detailed history with characters to give form to our framework.

So before I start an "official" discussion thread for us to work all the stuff out I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in participating first. Any takers?

I'm up for providing some art, specifically drawing the species itself, not so much the technology.

Vampirdhi that will be no easy task. I was thinking the species would need to be logical based on whatever environment there homewolrd has.

Once those details are worked out do you think you could devise some type of internal anatomy based on the environment as well?

I have a great and original idea. How about we take a typical human, and add some kind of detail to his forehead? That would be awesome!!!

But would it be ridges or spots or horns or plates? And would they have hair? WHAT COLOR WOULD THEY BE?!? It's insanity I tells ya!

Might be a cool way to introduce a new race into fanfic.

We'll start with the type of world, I've got the full Starfleet/Vulcan class list somewhere.
