Les Moonves predicts early fall Discovery premiere

Something about the title of this thread (predicts) made me visualize ol' Les as a groundhog, popping up to see his shadow and if he doesn't see his shadow, SIX MORE MONTHS UNTIL DISCOVERY! If he does see his shadow, sorry folks. We have to wait until 2018 to see Discovery.

I misread it for a second as "Les Moonves predicts early failure for Discovery".

I'm super disappointed we'll have to wait even longer to see it, but I'm glad they're taking their time and not forcing it. It's actually a good sign, IMHO. It shows that there's genuine care for the project, and that they're not just going to produce whatever turd they can and stamp "Star Trek" on it.

Expect an update on this premiere date on May 19 during the annual CBS shareholders meeting in NY.
I doubt they will have a teaser trailer but some more info for shareholders.

Actually, late summer/early fall would be fiscal Q4. It makes sense to have it air during that time to bring up any lagging numbers from the other quarters to show a year performing better than expected for CBS.
