LEGO Enterprise rumors

MOC means "my own creation".
Thank you!
I am but an (Lego) Egg!
I thought it was a Company!
I have a bit to learn!

But, wait…isn’t it actually a Company?

They're made using Lego bricks. But are not official "sets". They are sets made by fans using Lego.
Edit. Generally speaking!! That particular company makes sets out of GoBricks.

So MOC is an actual company, not an acronym?
Did I read it wrong?…

MOC is an acronym, which that site has also used as its own name, because no one can copyright the term.

The Lego brick design itself is not protected intellectual property, so there are plenty of knock-offs - from Mega Bloks and Kre-o and the German company BlueBrixx.

That site you’ve linked seems to sell fan designs made with third party bricks.

They’ll all be compatible with Lego, but official Lego sets are usually significantly better in terms of consistency and quality control.

So it is a scammy site, but a “real” company?

Lego is very happy to support MOCs. There’s a very popular site called Rebrickable where users can share or sell instructions to their designs.

There’s also a lot of sites that sell individual Lego bricks, the most popular of which is BrickLink. It was so successful that Lego actually bought it, and continues to operate an annual fan contest to give fans the chance for their design to become an official Lego set.

There are also sites selling fan designs made with third party bricks, such as the one you linked above. These are perfectly legal.

But there are also sites selling counterfeit Lego sets - usually direct from China. They are exact copies of Lego sets at a fraction of the cost, including licenced sets such as Star Wars. Obviously Lego and Disney are not happy about this, but there isn’t much they can do to stop it since the Chinese government doesn’t really care about the intellectual property of European or American companies.

Why isn't Trump protecting American ideas? /s sorry couldn't resist he's probably having a stroke

Lego E-D Sellout

he makes a good point that the quick sell-out of it show how live the passion is out for Trek and Trek merchandise, at least from the seies of the previous generations and not Kelvin or Kurtzman era stuff.

Is the entire first batch guaranteed a shuttlepod with Ro?

That seemed to have more desire for it than the 'D as the Minifigure population is very active. Everyone wanted to be sure to get that more than the ship. Hell, I'm kinda that way as a Trek fan I wanted Ro AND shuttlepod. I logged in right at midnight Eastern and didn't get in until about 20 minutes in. Yeah, it wasn't sold-out and I did get one when my order processed but it was "crowded."

What that shows is that there is energy for it. If it was a model of the Enterprise-G or Discovery with an exclusive kit with an obscure vehicle and popular secondary character would the same passion have been there?

No. Time and nostalgia cover everything.
