I just found this on Smallville Wiki so I'm not sure how legit it is (although they tend to get their infomation from Kryptonsite for the most part) but this episode looks like its going to be one of the best of the season and confirms a theory I had about Chloe's new power.

Last season was a bit miasmal so I completely forgot Braniac frakked Chloe until today when I saw 8/03 but I must say, what ever is happening to Chloe in public under Clark's nose drawing his focus... Is also happening to Lana off somewhere secret since brainiac frakked them in almost the same way didn't he?

Funny how I came to the same conclusion as you did with out remembering at all that Brainiac had been rooting through her brain near the end of last season because there's just so few ways this story can play out.

But that wikki doesn't really tell us anything that clark wasn't bitching about prophetically a couple days ago or had been leaked onto the net months ago.

I don't think that Lana would be affected--Brainiac was successful in his initial attack on her. I suspect it will be something about Chloe in particular (i.e. her ability) that interacted with Brainiac's attempt to infiltrate her.

Unless you're talking about her healing ability, that she comes back better adaptively after being attacked... I would be guessing that every facet and shade of this new intellect is brainiac and not just some quirk which it is taking advantage of.

That would make her Querl Dox's Great Grand Mommy and perhaps rule out any love affair but might make her Kara's Greatgandmotherinlaw.

Although Brainiac II and III were both prevelent in the pages of L.E.G.I.O.N. 87-93 and R.E.B.E.L.S 94.

in the finale, he said "what are you" to her, when it looked like he was kicked (forcefully) of her body.

I didn't think that I was breaking any news here...but it does make you think about what might happen to Chloe later this season. I like the Brainiac 5 idea NX...it would be awesome if later on we see Chloe start to develop greenish black veins all around her arms and her temples. I'm really looking forward to this episode...including the three Legionaires. I'm actually intrigued in the line that says SUPERMAN sent the three Legionaires back...

^ Superman, at least on Smallville, has been shown to live until the end of time. It was seen in season three.

You also have to remember that Chloe lost her old power apparently as a result of her new one. That's gotta play a role in there somehow.

She has to be a mouse trap. The Legion has been making her perfect for Brainiac to take over and consume, and then when it's finally completely committed to her body(like any sane man would) the legion is going to spring the trap and blow Chloe up or have the girl inconveniently and innocently trip into a black hole.

That'll teach her to strong arm negotiate with them over contracts between seasons. Hell yeah.
