Nintendo Treehouse livestream is on right now.

Some things that have been revealed so far:
- There is some voice over, but it might just be cutscenes so far.
- Hyrule is in a state of decay/ruin.
- Can climb just about anything. There is a stamina meter like Skyward Sword.
- Can chop down trees and collect variety of materials (apples, firewood, mushrooms).
- Weapons have a durability limit. In the livestream, they picked up a rusty sword and it broke a few hits later. But you can take weapons from enemies after defeating them.
- Clothing options. Link starts out in just underwear. But you quickly find a shirt and trousers.

[Edit]
More details:
- There is temperature and weather effects. One scene showed Link entering a colder, snowy area and he started shivering (eventually losing health) until they equipped a warmer set of clothes.
- There are about 100 "shrines" in the game (kinda like mini-dungeons) where you can gain new skills and/or equipment.
- 3 new Zelda series amiibos. One is Link with a bow, one is Link on a horse, and the last one is a Guardian (the giant enemy that we saw in the first trailer back in 2014). See them here: http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/06/...d-amiibo-revealed-wolf-link-support-explained
- The Wolf Link amiibo that came out with Twilight Princess HD will summon Wolf Link as a partner for Link in Breath of the Wild.

I'm sure a lot of people are going to love this, but I'm honestly a little disappointed. I've always loved that Nintendo marches to the beat of its own drum. They look at what's popular, ignore it, and make the type of games that they want to play. I love that about them. And, well, let's look at the post I made yesterday in response to Sony's E3 conference.

Kelthaz said:
Anyway, Sony's conference was pretty good but understandably not as good as last year. Too many third person open world games with guns/bows for my tastes; they all kinda blend together. Nice to have a date for The Last Guardian though.

Yeah, the new Zelda is exactly what I complained about yesterday. It's a safe, calculated move to appeal to popular tastes and sell a hell of a lot of NX units. I can't say I blame them and the game does look fun, but it's not quite what I wanted. I don't want another giant open world game with crafting, breakable weapons, and lots of loot. I want a Zelda game.

What's "a Zelda game"? I've never played one, but found this trailer intriguing. Not enough to pay for the system to play it, but I was curious about your comment. What is a Zelda game in terms of game world?

oh boy, I'm sorry, you must hate the direction of the industry in the past couple of years ;)

it will also be possible to finish the game (beat the final boss) without finishing the story

"Users may not actually get the full story depending on how they play this game and how they strategize and solve puzzles," producer Eiji Aonuma told Polygon. "Users are able to go to the very end goal without revealing why Link woke up the way he did and where he did. Whether you want to reveal the storyline and find out why Link woke up, or you want to just go straight to the goal, that's an option totally up to the user."

When asked, Aonuma confirmed that a player could go directly to the final boss of the game from its opening moments if they wanted. However, he also stressed that he didn't view this as an ideal way to play.

Haha, I have been known to grumble about its direction more than once. But don't get me wrong, I'm totally buying an NX and Zelda day one and I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but I do prefer my games more compact with the fat trimmed. A Link Between Worlds is a great example of a small, compact open world game that I loved.

Kelthaz, how do you define "a Zelda Game?" I'm not being snarky, I'm genuinely interested. My knowledge of the general game mechanics of Zelda games is close to zero. I know that the really old one's were pretty standard "big area....locked areas....quest...find key and unlock other areas" and so on. Is that still a thing? Based on your last comment "A Link Between Worlds" was a small open world, is that normal for Zelda these days?

I really liked the new trailer, but sadly, won't be able to play the game. I don't if it's the music or some of the more open and empty imagery, but at times I got almost a Shadow Of Colossus vibe from it. Not the "fighting the giant monsters" part, but the "wandering around an empty world listening to very...I'm not sure what the best word is....(atmospheric?, ethereal?) music. SoC was my all time favorite PS2 game, so anything that has even a bit of that magic is certain to capture my attention.

Sorry for skipping your question, but I'm not quite sure how to to explain what a Zelda game is without saying "you'll know if when you see it". Zelda has always kinda been in its own genre with few other games trying to copy the formula. Have you played any Metroivania games like Guacamelee or Symphony of the Night? Zelda is a little like a topdown/3D version of those games.

This looks cool. I don't own a Wii, but this is almost enough to make me want to get the NX. I haven't had a Nintendo system since the Gamecube, and at times I do miss some of their games like the Zeldas, Smash Bros., Mario Carts, and Star Foxes.
I've played bits of Ocarina of Time, but my biggest Zelda experience was Wind Waker, which I loved.

It's worth it. I have a Wii U and it's pretty stable. Haven't run into any real issues with it either.

Definitely looking forward to getting this game for the Wii U.

Nintendo went all out for the Zelda E3 booth:

I have a Wii and no Wii U. When Breath of the Wild comes out, I wonder whether I should get the Wii U or NX version. Hmm.

Seriously? There's literally no reason to pick the Wii U version unless you already have a Wii U.

I have a Wii U, but I'll be getting it for the NX.

I'm not settling for a subpar experience with my first (yes, really) Zelda game.

Even though I have a WIIU I'm gonna get an NX since I was planning to anyways. Thus I will purchase the NX version.
