I could see that coming, though, the way they were standing so close together.
That's the problem with the Tank--doing what works against ordinary zombies will get you beaten down. You need to spread out a bit, and take him from all sides.
I tend to try and keep right behind him and repeatedly unload and auto-shotgun up his arse. Works quite well if you can stay close and keep out of his line of sight.
