LCDs

^ I realize that. A lot of them still have a VGA out as well, so I was just telling Scout101 that it's better to use HDMI for connecting the PC to the telly.

agree with both of you, if i was using a semi-new computer. since I used my 10 year old desktop that was laying around and repurposed it to be an entertainment box, VGA was pretty much the only option I had, without upgrading lots of computer parts for minimal gain. VGA looks just fine, anyway.

either way, i was just pointing out that it was easily possible, and could be done no matter what kind of computer or video card you have...

LCD is superior to plasma any day.
And Samsung is pretty much the best TV maker out there.
Go far the Samsung.

If you like lighter black levels and poor viewing angles I agree with you. Only the new Panasonic lcds even remotely address these isues.

Plasmas have deeper blacks, handle rapid motion better, have unlimited viewing angles, and better contrast.

But don't take it from me. Check out CNET and Consumer reports. They agree.

Buyer's choice.

Reviews would be as bad as listening to your advice.
In real life, the LCD has much more vivid color and deeper blacks.
Especialy in the case of Samsung which usually have very high
contrast ratios.

And lemme check... yup. I can view my LCD from any angle.
New LCD also have faster processors to deal with motion.
And as someone who is a Gamer this was an issue for me, and
it's also a non issue because the TV has handled it exceptionaly.

Samsung, LCD. No bloody Sony, no bloody Plasma.

The other thing is that a lot of HD ready TVs don't support 1368x768 over HDMI, only VGA. OTOH, when it comes to Full HD TVs HDMI definitely looks better then VGA.

My cousin bought himself a 47" Samsung Full HD TV (can't remember what it's called exactly), and it's FANTASTIC. Seriously, when I have the money I'm getting me one of those.
