Law & Order: True Crime

NBC has ordered an anthology series based on true crimes. First up with be the trial of the Menendez brothers, who were convicted of murdering their parents and sentenced to life in prison in 1996. (Spoiler alert).

I think this could be a hit and certainly draw more eyes than even The People vs OJ Simpson. I wouldn't even be surprised to see them turn out two seasons a year considering how cheap L&O episodes are to make.

True crime is boring, routine and repetitive for very very long periods with micromoments of excitement, trust me. There's a reason detective shows are unrealistic. Realistic ones wouldn't get any ratings at all.
"In next week's thrilling episode of Law And Order: True Crime, our heroes go through the exhibit spreadsheet for continuity issues and obtain statements to sure up chain of custody, while Bob chases pocket book entries from officers down on the original log as attending but who won't answer emails. Don't miss it!"

This is all reactionary to the success of The People vs. OJ Simpson.

CBS is going for it too with a JonBenet Ramsey show.
