Bleah. What boring and poorly written episode. The characters were slaves to the story, particularly Lake, Novak, and Stabler, two of which were clearly written that way as means to get them off the show. Lake and Novak in particularly did incredibly stupid things for no believable reason. I simply didn't get the feelings of why they would throw away their careers for this particular case. It would be one thing if they had a strong personal connection like Green did in his final episode.

And what was the point of Fin's transfer request? We haven't heard anything about Ice T leaving the show, too.

The only good thing about the episode was Munch's increased screen time.

A poor ending to a mostly mediocre season. I can only hope next season picks it up a bit.

SVU has been ending on real downers lately. Every season finale is a major shit-fest, it seems.

One thing I didn't get: When Casey goes to talk to Warner and asks her about the partial sample, and what to say on the stand, Warner makes it perfectly clear that she doesn't feel there's enough evidence and that a partial sample isn't enough. Yet when the time comes to testify, Warner says that she thinks the defendant is guilty. Why would she do an about-face like that?

Bye, Casey. Bye, Lake. Don't let the door hit your asses on the way out! :p

Seriously, that was mediocre. I think it's time to put this show to rest. Come on, who didn't know that the bad cop would get off, and that Lake would kill him? Or that Casey would screw up again?

I never liked Lake anyway.

So now Fin is requesting a transfer. Is Ice-T leaving, too? :( Loved seeing him chew out Stabler.

Like Meh said, the only good thing was Munch's increased screen time.

First episode of SVU I've watched since fall. Wow I guess when a bunch of characters have to be axed the writers goes into contrivance galore. What's up with Fin anyways. I have never seen him get so pissed off at Stabler. I remember him being more mellow when Munch was his partner.

Not that I know of.

Lots of characters have requested transfers. Eames on CI, for one. She later withdrew it. Fin will probably either do the same, or be denied a transfer.

Sure, Fin had problems with Stabler, but they were never partners to begin with, so I don't see their disagreements being a source of Fin wanting out. Now that Lake is out, Fin will probably partner with Munch again, and they always got on fairly well, considering.

As for Lake - well, to be fair, Adam Beach wasn't "axed", nor did he quit. He only had a contract for one year. Like Chris Eccleston on DW.

Yeah, that bugged the hell out of me. Like I said, everyone was a slave to the story.

Lake obviously doesn't need a replacement, but I wonder who they will get to fill Casey's shoes. Possibly raiding the Conviction cast again? :D (as they have done twice before, once for the mothership and once for CI)

I certainly would love to see Stephanie March return. :D

What episode is he supposed to be in then? Wasn't this the season finale? The release said he was going to be in the May 13 episode.

March has said she'd never come back.

I love Diane Neal, I'm really sad to see her go, thought she was great.

Best part of the episode was Finn chewing Stabler out, rat bastard.

I am amazed so many people disliked the episode. Personally, I enjoyed Det Lake and hoped he would return next year. That said, they decided to get rid of him, and they did that.
I enjoyed the episode.

It was in TVGuide a few weeks ago that Stephanie March is in negotiations to appear again next season - but not as the new ADA or on a permanent basis.

I hadn't heard that Ice-T was released from the series so I think he'll be back.

Pretty sure he's coming back, they just wanted to add some drama.

As for Lake, well, Beach was only under a 1 year contract, and Belzer has asked for less screen time. What I wonder is if he's decided to take a bigger role again.

That would make my day, Munch is great and I'm growing pretty tired of Benson and Stabler.

I wonder if what's her face from The Wire is gonna join the show after being on tonight.

Wish this could have been a two-parter so it would have been less rushed.

Would like to have seen more development of the squad rift, the prejudice against the external case solver(s), the ADA's battling with her conscience, and the bad cops' hunt for Beach.

I hear Rip Taylor is replacing Neal. :p
