The death of an investment banker leads detectives to a popular football star and his agent, who will do anything to protect his man's reputation.
This episode kicks off the series of special guest stars, tonight's featuring Bill Pullman.

April 29th: Robin Williams
May 6th: James Gandolfini
May 13th: Chris Noth & Eric Bogosian

Wow, that was a pointless episode. Like several episodes earlier this season, this episode bounced all over the place simply because it didn't have a full story to tell. Bill Pullman's appearance was a glorified cameo (a role which could have been played by anyone), which was forced into the story simply because it was essentially a publicity stunt.

This season has been a mixed bag. Either they're great or they're complete junk and unfortunately, it's mostly the latter. Here's hoping the final three episodes are better (especially the one with Noth and Bogosian).

Oh, a little reminder: Tomorrow's episode of the original Law & Order will be Jesse L. Martin's final episode and it looks to be big.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. Although I guess it was only a matter of time before one of the Law & Order shows did a GAY CHRIS BENOIT episode.

The DVR listing for this episode essentially gave away the plot twist: that the player's agent killed the lover.

Side note: When Liv and Elliott are in the bar watching the agent introduce the new player, the agent makes the "making out with your boyfriend in the bathroom" joke. They immediately suspect him, because he hadn't let on that he knew Lincoln was gay until after the murder. They didn't stop to consider that the agent might have been just making a bad joke? I'm sure they felt they had to investigate it, but still...it seemed like a stretch.

And I agree, Bill Pullman's appearance was just a goof. He had *one scene* and that's it?

Looks like Robin Williams *won't* be similarly tossed aside in next week's ep, though.

Yeah, I thought that was a stretch. Such a bad stretch that I figured I missed something earlier in the episode, but it was clear during the interrogation scene that wasn't the case.

Thank god. Of the two, I definitely want more Robin Williams.

The scene in the bar marked the problem of much of SVU's episodes for the past year or so -- "Hey, guys, you remember that episode you just watched? None of it really mattered; enjoy the last five minutes!"

Actually, you could already tell something was up when Lincoln was found guilty of murder with 7 minutes left to go in the episode. :p
