A celebrity scandal leaves a gossip columnist dead. Mary McCormack guest stars.
At long last, Julianne Nicholson returns as Megan Wheeler! And not a moment too soon. As much as I like Alicia Witt, I didn't care for Nola Falacci.

In case you missed last week's thread, there are only two more episodes after tonight's, one of Goren/Eames and Logan/Wheeler each.

A fairly straight forward episode, but still pretty enjoyable. I loved the final scene with Logan and the producer, particularly when the producer thought he one up on Logan. Oops, I guess not!

Oh, I also liked Mo Rocca's cameo in the cold opening. They went to great length's to obscure his face, but I know that voice too well (from Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me! primarily). Too bad Mary McCormack's role was also a glorified cameo despite the advertising hyping of her appearance.

I didn't like the way they did a "crossover" that was nothing more than a labored commercial for USA's new series. Realistically, would Logan have any in-universe motivation to say "I wonder what there is to do in Albuquerque at 10 PM on a Sunday?" And really there was nothing in that scene that couldn't have been handled with one of the detectives reading from a report or something.

Didn't Wheeler have freckles before? If she's been off someplace getting a tan, shouldn't she have more pronounced freckles? Or do freckles blend into a tan?

So In Plain Sight is in the L&O Universe?...Well if their going to do that then maybe we'll get a Monk/Goren Team-up in the future.

What the frak? We get an In Plain Sight character crossover that also plugs the show In Plain Sight? What's next? Monk is the mastermind behind Michael Weston's burn notice?

Logan should've pitched the mogul a story about a disgraced New York City cop exiled to working the beat on Staten Island. Maybe he could've even called it "Exiled."

I like it when USA does character-crossover commercials; those are fun. But they really should leave it out of the shows unless there's a good story reason for it.

Yeah, I had that same thought. I think the writers probably put that in-joke there (about Logan having movie-worthy stories) intentionally.

Ah, I didn't realize McCormack was cameoing as her character from her new show. With that in mind, that whole scene was pointless. Oh, well.

However, I did like the in-joke to Exiled,(although I still haven't seen it. :(

There is a good reason for this crossover though - to drum up interest for In Plain Sight. It will probably cause a lot of people watching L&O:CI to tune in if they like the character.

Law & Order has crossed over with Homicide Life on the Street before, so it's not a new thing to the L&O franchise.

Did the reverse for me. The character was so gruff and unpleasant that the scene demolished whatever curiosity I had about her show.

It worked for Homicide because it was full fledged crossover. This was just a commercialized cameo. If they really wanted to drum interest, they could have had her character take a proper role in the plot instead of doing something could've been covered with dialogue between Logan, Wheeler, and Ross.

Pretty good- mostly because I'm so glad Wheeler is back! I hated Falacci.
My thoughts as well. When she started tossing Falacci's belongings into the trash, I clapped. Loudly.
Hahaha, I forgot about that scene. That was a great touch. :D

I enjoyed the ep overall...
I liked it when Wheeler threw Falacci's stuff away...
And Logan's line "what's there to do at 10pm on Sunday night in Albuquerque"

The story was good... Honestly, I didn't see the end until the end!

Oh, I also liked Mo Rocca's cameo in the cold opening.

Better than the one he did on SVU (the Robin Williams ep) - Mo was the guy on the megaphone during the mini-'riot'.

Also, I liked the mini touches, such as the reference to a previous episode. Hint: It's a movie poster shown when Logan and Wheeler go to talk to the screenwriter (Maury Ginsberg).

Yeah, I remember that. I didn't even recognize him because of the megaphone distorting his voice (and not being familiar with his face). It wasn't until after the fact (probably pointed out by you in the review thread) that it was him. This time I recognized him right away.

*touches the back of my head*

Yep. You blew my mind...

Personally I'm a sucker for cross-overs and thought it was cool. I also liked the promo USA did with Goren brining over a rhubarb pie... I can't help wondering what different characters will act like when they encounter each other.

The story was great, I didn't figure the show out until the very end, and I'm glad to see Wheeler teamed up with Logan. Not that I disliked Falacci, but I missed Wheeler.

For some reason, Wheeler looks a lot cuter now. Not quite  level, but getting there. When she said she got engaged, I actually did think "he's a lucky guy". :)
