Latest acquisition!

New Trek from IDW by Ian McLean, on Flickr

The latest "Star Trek" comics from IDW: "Star Trek: 60th Anniversary Special" one-shot, "Deviations: Evermore" one-shot, and "Red Shirts: Ghost of the 21st Century" #2; plus "The Last Starship" volume 1 omnibus in trade paperback.

I got some Kindle points for an Amazon order my mom made the other day, so I got Doctor's Orders. I'm a big fan of McCoy and the idea of him being put in command sounds like a lot of fun.

I was thrilled when I realised that the unique Diane Duane alien races on Planet Flyspeck had been created by her previously for the text-based "Star Trek" computer game, "The Kobayashi Alternative". It's a fun novel!

Shadows on the Sun is a really excellent take on McCoy's troubled backstory with his ex wife it really dives deep into his past before he was on the Enterprise it's a really good story. Also another McCoy story The better Man it turns out he has another daughter that isn't Joanna.Sorry I don't remember more about the story it's been along time since I read the book.

I still have my copies of the original two LPs from 1985-6. This rerelease has the episodes in a different order. Originally, the first one had the Main Title and Closing Theme, "Corbomite," and "Charlie X" on Side One and "Doomsday" and "Mudd" on Side Two, and the second had the titles, "Mirror," "Tribbles," and "By Any Other Name" on Side One and "The Empath" on Side Two.

As a “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” fan, I was pleased to see a whole page dedicated to TMP. (At first glance the shading on the uniforms resembles little bats!)

Yeah, I still have my originals, but they are in storage. Grrrrr. Also have the CDs.

I am a sucker for repackaging and it was a bit of a novelty to buy something on vinyl after all this time.
