Malcolm watches Major Hayes' eyes instead of his hands. When T'Pol begins comparing sexuality to a laboratory experiment, it sounds like Seven of Nine dialogue.

It took me about 10 seconds to figure out that the crew were holograms. This episode reminded me a little of The Cage, with a nice callback to Voyager ("whaddya gonna do if she gets hurt, program a holographic doctor?"), and of course it was great to see Rene Auberjonois.

Another technological advancement that the enterprise crew refused to take advantage of. Archer must have received specific instructions. "Whatever you do, don't ask passing aliens about their holodeck technology."

Kira meets a good Cardassian that she'll come to admire and treat like a second father, then she later let herself be manipulated by Dukat into mentally torturing him on his death bed... Talk about being messed up!

The animated series "The Lorelei Signal" (underwhelming but mostly hurt by the ending)

DS9 Duet: The best episode of the first season, hands down.

ENT: Detained and Vox Sola, streamed on Netflix.

Detained: Archer and Travis wake up in an internment camp, and learn that Suliban are people too. Features a nice mini Quantum Leap reunion between Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell.

Vox Sola: A pile of snot tries to assimilate the crew. Reed wants to kill it, while Phlox wants to help it because it is a "sentient" pile of snot. Reminded me of TNG: Evolution, when Picard decides to help the nanites that are eating his ship because they too are "sentient". Picard and Phlox are willing to let entire humanoid races die for "ethical" reasons, yet will defend the rights of the stuff that clogs up your shower drain. Sure.

    Seska ... is COOL!!!
That's this episode's message and I'm buying it! Killing her off - HUGE mistake! But ... Seven of Nine's potential with audiences would've been threatened had Seska lived. And what can you say to that shit? It's weak, I tell ya ...

"You didn't think that Seska would let a little thing like death stop her from getting even, did you?"

    Great stuff.

The second one is an allegory about the witch hunt if I remember correctly (it's been a long time).

Desert Crossing had the always great Clancy Brown, so +1 for that.

We all get that tune in our head that we can't get rid of, once in a while.
