ENT - "Fortunate Son"
TOS Galileo 7
Melora - DS9
Watched this on Netflix after it was mentioned in another thread. Melora said that she was Elasian. She was blonde with light skin. But the Elasians from TOS all had tanned skin with dark hair. And there was no evidence of them coming form a planet with substantially lower gravity.
And to listen to Bashir talk about how badly he did playing in his first real tennis tournament. It smacks of BS when we later learn that he is basically an augment.
Different Elasian. Elaan was the Dolhman of Elas ("Elasian"). Melora was an "Elaysian" from a different planet entirely (the writers probably should have realized how similar the names were but apparently forgot about the name in the classic TOS episode or just didn't care).
Good episode. But yeah, Melora and Elaan of Troyius are from two entirely different planets and humanoid species that just happen to have uncomfortably similar names. Hope that helps a little.
^^ You know. You'd think that the writers of these different Star Trek series would have some sort of guide to keep errors like that from happening.
The Corbomite Maneuver
