I watched My Cousin Rachel, the one from just a few years back with Rachel Weisz as Rachel. I love these moody and atmospheric period pieces. Kor
Three or four times a week? Wow. I can barely even fathom the concept of rewatching a single movie within 6 months. Even for my top favourite movies of all time, I'll usually only rewatch them again within the next 2 to 5 years.
Yeah, the most I managed in recent years was when I watched Conan the Barbarian once a month for the year it was on German Netflix, and even I considered that on the edge of being obsessive. Kind of reminds me of that anecdote about Alec Guinness, where he was approached by a young boy who told him he had seen Star Wars at least a hundred times, and Guinness responding that he shouldn't watch any movie a hundred times, and to promise him to not watch it again. Of course, fandom turned it into an urban legend of a spiteful, bitter Guinness who hated Star Wars and was having a fit of rage at a young Star Wars fan.
I watched the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the first time this morning. It was actually better than I expected, some of the dialogue was a little cheesy, but other than that it was pretty fun.
I once watched Jurrasic World (2015) twice and I am good for a long time... I watched Jurrasic World II (2018?) And I kinda feel like I've seen it twice already. It was cartoonish in its excess. I mean at one time a guy (he was a very bad guy) is eaten alive by a big giant nasty super-raptor or whatever and he's still yelling after the dino has taken four of five bites of him. I mean, what does it take to kill a guy in that movie!!!! Then the dinos who are barely a dozen or so are released and it's the end of the world!!! Please! I get it that it could be very dangerous for the locals but a few tanks and a few fighter aircrafts can take care of that in no time...
Outside The Wire over on Netflix. Definitely good production values but the story was weak. Probably could have benefited from one more script pass. Found the overall story way too familiar; like I've seen it else where many times before. All in all, entertained for two hours but ultimately forgettable... 6.5 to 7/10
I watched Mulan... People told me that there were no musical numbers so I gave it a shot... Not bad but the villain is a bit too cartoonish for my taste.
The Midnight Sky What the hell was that?!?!?! If I could describe the movie in one word, it's pointless.
Tried that a few weeks ago. Not one I'd bother rewatching. Last film I watched was probably Final Destination 5.
Not really, except maybe for Guilbert and Sullivan but even so I wouldn't watch two in the same week. I also like Offenbach but that because he's a genius... That man could write a parody of Mozart, Gluck, or Wagner (or anybody else ) that would be just as brilliant as the original!!
