Landing parties without Kirk?

How many times in TOS was Kirk not a member of the landing party? I'm hard pressed to think of one at the moment. At first I was thinking The Enemy Within, but then remembered Kirk was with the landing party at the beginning when he had himself beamed up.

(I'm not counting The Menagerie when Kirk wasn't the captain.) :p

I guess Psi 2000 in The Naked Time, right?

And Omicron Ceti III in some parts of This Side of Paradise, although that was a case of everyone on the ship beaming down, and he had been there earlier in the episode anyway.

The Naked Time and The Squire of Gothos are the first two I immediately think, and others are coming to mind as I write this.

In the Landru episode Kirk was not in the first landing party.
Kirk also didn't beam down in any landing party in Galileo 7.

Ultimate Computer, Kirk was non-essentual personnel.

(incidently, where's the fun in just looking up the anwsers?)

")

And Kirk wasn't in "The Slaver Weapon" at all.

"The Cage" and "The Slaver Weapon" were the only episodes of the pre-TNG era that Kirk wasn't in. Were there any episodes without Spock? I'm hard pressed to think of one.

Actually, some of us would turn our noses up at Kirk ... we're holding out for Spock. ;)

Dax was a Spock fan, too.

That was a great moment! I love the way she says that line.

And actually ON topic, the landing party that comes to mind -- since this is Halloween -- is the first landing party in "Catspaw," which was Scotty, Sulu, and Jackson. Of course, Kirk & co. beamed down later...

Counts for me if Kirk wasn't on the first beamdown. :)

Plus, he'll bring a lot of women

Not that we'll get a chance with him around :scream:

Good luck with that. ;)

My husband is a highly intelligent professor of Computer Science who also knows a lot about a variety of things that aren't CS. He's a very nice man who's not aggressive or violent, and he's interestingly complex. He's a tall, skinny guy with a long, thin face and dark hair. He also has a somewhat regrettable tendency to take things I say literally. I think I came pretty close, actually! :techman:
