So now it's certain to leak.
I wouldn't be surprised if Trump shut it down, but I find it much more likely the network got scared of creating controversy.

If there is anything in the law that would allow any politician, President or no, to actually force a network to pull an episode, I'm not aware of it.
SVU has the right to free speech. As long as they don't mention real people, there's nothing anyone can do. (Hence the frequent disclaimers.)
I mean, the character played by Gary Cole might be so obviously based on Trump as to remove all doubt, but as long as they don't specifically mention Trump BY NAME, the network is in the clear.

Yeah, but it could be also that it wouldn't be just a small amount of controversy.
They really can't afford to lose their grandparent viewership. It's for the best until he gets impeached or something.
It's nothing they haven't done before. They had an ep a few years back that was strongly based on John Edwards, another on Anthony Wiener. And, I understand, a lot of their shows have been based on the behavior of NY political types that the rest of the country never hears about.
Trump can't force them to remove an episode but he can threaten to roll back media access for them.
But much more likely they just didn't want to piss off 36% of the country.
