This looks pretty good. Hopefully it will measure up to the previous films. :)

Saw the trailer in front of TFA, and to be honest, I was kinda "Meh" about it. Funny moments to be sure, but I couldn't shake the feeling that this was going to be more like the forgettable second one, in other words more or less by-the-numbers standard sequel fare, and less of a break-out original like the first one. I hope to be proven wrong, and that the third entry will be a step up from #2 towards the greatness of the first one.

I thought the second one was one of the most beautiful works of visual art ever presented on screen. It was downright incongruous that such stunning visual splendor was bestowed on a comedy about a talking panda.

Why should it be incongruous? Comedy is as valid as any other form of expression. The language in Shakespeare's comedies is just as beautiful as the language in his tragedies and histories. And there have always been fables and myths about anthropomorphized animals, going back to ancient times.

Anyway, I hope this film manages to be a good climax to the trilogy, rather than falling into excess as so many third films do. The idea of Po maturing from the student into the master certainly seems like a logical resolution to his arc, though.

You know you CAN just read a post without needing to correct or explain something in it.

Ahem! In my official position as a Kung Fu Panda expert, having seen parts of both movies, I can unequivocally state that this is indeed a preview for another Kung Fu Panda movie.

Indeed, what else would one expect? The gang to be abducted to Venus, and forced to fight in its gladiatorial arena? A black-and-white installment about jury deliberations - 12 Angry Animals? It's a kid's series about animals that hit and kick other animals in "Ancient China". :rommie:

(Though the Venus/E. R. Burroughs thing does sound pretty badass, now that I think on it... :p)

With a jury of pandas, it wouldn't make much difference.

A Monkey cartoon series would be awesome.
