Kobe makes history

With the 44 pts he puts up tonight, Kobe has become the all-time leading scorer for the Lakers. Take a second to mull that over and recall the names he's now passed - Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, and now Jerry "Mr. Logo" West! No matter who you are or what you think about Kobe himself, that is one heck of an achievement.

Yeah, passing Jerry West is quite an accomplishment. He might be remembered as the greatest Laker ever (the only player I'd add to the names mentioned there is Magic Johnson). That's a damn great accomplishment (although pre-Lakers Wilt was better, so I don't think Kobe is the greatest player ever ).

I used to hate the Lakers and Kobe. Now I just hate the Lakers.

Kobe hasn't ruled out eventually passing Abdul-Jabbar as the league's all time leading scorer. That will take a healthy amount of luck in avoiding injury, but if he does stay healthy, he could do it.
