know anything about surgical hair removal?

Rÿcher

Fleet Captain
I know, it's kinda gross but I get pretty thick hair in my nose and I want it gone. I don't want to be some old man with thick tufts of hair growing out his nose sitting there in his rocking chair having small birds come pick the bugs out of it.

I want to see about getting that laser surgery but I'm not sure they do it up the nose or even I should get rid of my nose hair. Aren't they supposed to be there. On the other hand, why don't women have thick 18 gauge hair in their noses?

Anyway, let me know if you've every had laser hair removal especially if you're a dude.

thanks.

Oh, I have tried the Google. No dice.

I just use my beard trimmer to trim the nasal area. It's got a special blade for that purpose. Works on the ears too.

I just bought a new beard trimmer with a similar attachment.

Before that I used to just rip the hair out of my nose. It hurt, but it got the job done.

I have a little laser thing that I use on my under arms. And while it does remove the hairs I haven't found it to be as permanent as the manufacturers claim. The effect is longer than shaving or waxing, but it's not permanent.

I'd be cautious about any invasive methods used up the nose. For one, the skin tissue is much more delicate, and you could end up with lingering pain, recurring nose bleeds, loss of smell, or phantom smells. I don't know how likely those side effects would be, or if they did occur how permanent they would be. But be aware that there is some risk of them.

I'm not even sure you could fit the laser head up the nose. The ones they use at clinics are more bulky than the home kits so I don't know.

Why not just ask the clinicians at a reputable salon what they think. Emphasis on reputable. Some unreputable clinics will want to zap you anywhere and not care about damage, just raking in your money.

Electrolysis might be better for you. It'd better for finer work like your stray nose hairs. But beware that sensitive nose + stabbing needle + electric current = pain.

What Ice Queen said. Laser hair removal is not permanent, although the industry is notorious for implying otherwise.

Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal, and it hurts like hell.
