I haven't seen this episode yet, but I did catch part of the end so I could set up VCR to record LOST. Deanna Russo looks hella HAWT with glasses.

Yep, this is probably the ep that's truest to the original KR so far. All that was missing was a turbo boost, a meter maid trying to give KITT a ticket and the beautiful girl being a single mom.

Yep, this is probably the ep that's truest to the original KR so far. All that was missing was a turbo boost, a meter maid trying to give KITT a ticket and the beautiful girl being a single mom.
I'm a little disturbed by the relative lack of posts about last night episode. Not a good sign. It was a good episode, just like the original shows, which may not be a good things. it lacked the energy and stupid fun of this season's beginning. I think the will kill the show faster as it will just fall off everyone's radar.
By the way, the stripes are the same color. They are a semi gloss or luster paint, so depending on the angle of the light, it just reflects more, going from a shadow to grey/silver, to almost white depending on the reflection. Sarah's librarian glasses and frak me pumps got my oil boiling for sure. Turbines to speed!

Knight Rider last night edged out a Lost repeat, coming in third with a 3.2 rating and 5 share.
Knight Rider went from over 6 million to just under 5 million and even though the finals will probably push it up above 5 million, the show is DEAD...
2 more episodes left and we needed them including this to stay at least above 6.5 million and that won't happen. Despite NBC still calling the 17th episode, a season finale the show will be cancelled between tommorow and the day after the season finale airs.
I do wonder what the ratings might of been if the retool was aired out of NFL like NBC promised back when the changes were annoucned, the re tool has been a big improvement IMO.

Even if the ratings had improved slightly, I doubt NBC would have renewed it anyway. The show has been a huge object of ridicule all season, and is often pointed to as an example of all that is wrong with NBC at the moment.
For what it's worth though, I have to admit the show HAS improved dramatically the last few weeks. It's still cheesy and one-dimensional of course, but at least the plots seem to be a little more focused and structured now. And a lot of the really juvenile stuff seems to be gone too.
I was sad to see the truck mode return though (I think it would be much more fun to see a Mustang go off-roading than a boring ass pickup).
Did people really think they were gonna get rid of the truck mode? We got a proper retool where they shake up the cast within the context of the story, not the kind of retool where they ignore stuff from previous episodes.
As for the show getting cancelled, I wonder if moving it to the Sci Fi Channel is a possibility.

Honestly I find myself somehow less interested in this show now that it's emulating the original more closely. I saw no problem with Mike and KITT undertaking 'larger', more important missions - it was always the execution that was the problem.
And yet now I watch the show and I find myself thinking that the show was more entertaining when it was ludicrously over the top and stupid. -shrug- Maybe I'm weird like that.
